Gold Coast Theme Parks

The Gold Coast has a variety of theme parks which can be enjoyed by the whole family on their Gold Coast vacation. The best of these theme parks are described below:

Sea World

The oceanic life attractions, entertaining shows and wild rides make Sea World one of the most attractive theme parks to be enjoyed by the family. Sea World is also playing a dynamic role in oceanic researches conducted in Australia. It is also educating guests and visitors playing and enjoying various facilities available for them. The world's biggest artificial lagoon - Shark Bay – is one of the main attractions here. Also Polar Bear Shores is very popular, where Polar bears can be seen in their natural environment.

Dream World

For those who are fond of amazing and thrilling rides, Dream World is the ultimate place for you. There is a lot of fun for the whole family from slow and steady rides to fast shaky ones. If you wish to be pushed to a height of nine stories, swing at a speed of 75km per hour and revolve around 360 degrees do take a ride on the Claw at Dream World.

For people who enjoy moderate thrill and fun there is a suspended 'Family coaster' better known as the Runaway Reptar Rollercoaster. Dream world also has the Wipeout in the style of a large surfboard, where you spin, twist and tumble right around. Except for two days in a year (i.e. Christmas Day and Anzac Day - 25th April) Dream World is always open for its visitors.

Movie World

If you are fond of Hollywood’s glamour do not forget to visit Movie World. It is a theme park and has slides, rides and shows for all. Get yourself propelled to 100km/h in just two seconds at the Superman Escape at Movie World. If your appetite for thrill is a little low and you wish to feel the gravity enjoy the stunt car shows from the safety of your own seat overlooking the arena.

Once you enjoy all these thrills don’t miss the parade where all the stars can be spotted including Batman, Shrek, Tweety, Scooby Doo and Daffy Duck. You can also enjoy the shopping for souvenirs from the themed shops around Movie World.

Wet'n'Wild Water World

One of Australia's most exciting water theme parks with startling rides and slides is the Gold Coasts Wet'n'Wild Water World. Wet'n'Wild Water World has a variety of long slides, king sized slides, racing slides and smaller slides for the children. There are some exciting rides as well, including the Tornado and the Surf rider, not for those that are faint of heart.

The Australian Outback Spectacular

Not so much a theme park, although owned by the same company that owns Sea World and Movie World, Australian Outback Spectacular is an exciting live show with dinner, in a huge purpose built stadium on the Gold Coast. It’s a thrilling and electrifying live show of native Australian animals, traditional Australian singing and dancing and Australian culture. The show is of 90 minutes where animals and people perform under impressive sight and sound effects.

The stadium has a capacity of about 1,000 seats and all kinds of wines, beer and soft drinks are available for your enjoyment while you watch the show and enjoy a traditional Australian three course meal.
